Dr. Vinay Jacob is a plastic, cosmetic and reconstructive surgeon in Mumbai with a special interest in hand surgery and microsurgery. He studied medicine at St. John's Medical College, Bangalore (MBBS), trained in general surgery in Mumbai (MS, including work at Tata Memorial Hospital), and qualified in plastic surgery with an MCh from Gujarat University (2002) and a DNB (2003), both with honours. He completed further training abroad, including an RCS International Surgeons Fellowship at Queen Victoria Hospital, East Grinstead (UK), clinical research fellowships in microvascular surgery in Modena (Italy) and an aesthetic surgery observership in Barcelona. He practises at Breach Candy Hospital and Bombay Hospital, consults at his clinic in Bandra (West), and is an honorary assistant professor at Grant Medical College and Sir JJ Group of Hospitals. His work covers breast and body contouring, facial aesthetic surgery, hair transplantation, cleft, burns and scar surgery, hand surgery and microsurgical reconstruction. He is a member of the Association of Plastic Surgeons of India, the International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery and the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, and was APSICON 2019 Visiting Professor in Microsurgery.
